At the ASCC’s Cabinet announced the forward movement of the new LCD screen, where the iFALCON campaign is going toward in its January launch and what is being done with the water proposals at its last meeting on Monday.
Holly Bogdanovich, director of Student Activities, said the LCD screen will be installed on Friday “if the weather is good.”
ASCC President Michael Barrita was surprised it came so soon.
The LCD screen will replace the marquee that is currently in front of the Student Center.
“I hope this will be the start of the renovation (of the Student Center),” Barrita said.
If the LCD screen is installed on Friday as planned, it will take longer until it’s running.
iFALCON has come a long way over the semester.
“It will be launching off in January,” Barrita said.
Barrita said he wanted to make the posters and advertisements to represent the major disciplines at Cerritos College and get one of each gender to pose for them.
He said there are about 10 disciplines completed now and the goal is to get every major one.
So far, the campaign has:
- pre-law
- pre-med
- music
- engineering,
- science,
- business,
- peace and conflict,
- math and
- English.
On the Web site, Barrita said he wants to see focus pages on the students that utilize the habits of mind expressed by iFALCON.
The pages would be updated to show current students what they become.
“We become whoever we envision,” Barrita said. “I want this to be the underlying theme of the iFALCON campaign.”
The water proposals are turned in and Barrita wants the water fountains to be fixed in the areas that need them the most first.
He wants to focus on the Athletics Department first.
Water proposals were turned in by the ASCC Cabinet members as a way to evaluate the water fountains on campus to tell facilities which ones need work to be up to a certain standard.
