Hoe Down Days will be held from March 17-19.
Every day will bring a new and different activity for students and clubs to participate in.
“Hoe Down Days is a Spring version of Homecoming,” said Holly Bogdanovich, director of student activities.
On March 17, booths with games will be lined up in front of the Hill for students to play and have a chance to win prizes.
The clubs that signed up for the event will have a booth where they will host games and activities.
All the money raised by these activities will go directly to those clubs who participated in Hoe Down Days.
Some students are already looking forward to participating in several games.
Undecided major Pedro De Anda said, “I like the basketball booth and I’m looking forward to playing it.”
Although this event raises money for clubs and provides fun activities for students, some people completely disagree with the entire process.
“This seems kind of childish. We’re here to learn not to play games,” said Raymond Nunez, criminal justice major. “But the football throw will be a game I’d like to try.”
The International Student Association will be hosting a dunk tank to help raise money for the scholarships it gives away to the members of the club.
Similar to Homecoming that holds the homecoming queen contest, Hoe Down Days will have a Mr. Cerritos contest.
It will also hold a chili cook-off where clubs will have the opportunity to enter homemade chili in different categories.
