The Cerritos College Board of Trustees gathered together in the Cheryl Epple board room on March 18 to discuss a series of important matters, and to celebrate the reitrement of Trudy Foster.
The main topic that was discussed at the Board was the plans of installing the software known as eLumen.
eLumen is a software that manages Student Learning Outcomes.
A number of community colleges from the Western Association Schools and Colleges use eLumen.
Dr. Tina Cho had this to say about eLumen, “What we expect the students to learn from each class, has a statement of what they should have learned.”
eLumen will be placed in 3500 courses, and the assessment information will show the students the required accreditation.
Dr. Bryan Reece, Faculty Senate president, exclaimed, “I am personally excited about it, it will help organize the SLOs, improve the college, and adjust courses.”
The plans for the purchase and installation are as followed: purchased by April, set up by May.
Training and test runs are to be done in the summer, and will be fully installed in classes by the Fall semester.
