The Board of Trustees announced that Linda Lacy will begin her role as the new superintendent of Cerritos College on Sept. 14.
The announcement was made at Wednesday’s Board of Trustees meeting at 6 p.m. in the Cheryl A. Epple Board room.
Lacy, the current Vice Chancellor of Student Services and Operations at Riverside Community College, was one of the four presidential candidates that had to go through a lengthy process including an interview with a hiring committee and participating in a presidential forum, in hopes of acquiring the job as the school’s new president.
Lacy, who was present at Wednesday’s meeting, said she is excited and looking forward to working in this wonderful institution, Cerritos College.
“I have been given a great opportunity to be able to work in this magnificent facility,” she said, “It was a long and grueling process but the outcome was gratifying.”
She stated that she is awaiting with great anticipitation for her first day at Cerritos College as its new superintendent.
She said,”I can’t wait until Sept. 14 because that’s when I will officially become a Falcon.”
