Black History Month Celebration and Presidential Applications are also ahead as well, Dean Ackland, coordinator of student services announced at the Advisors-Officers Luncheon on Tuesday.
Linda Palymbo also shared her announcement about her upcoming event, women’s history.
David Chacon-Acosta, business administration major said, “You get a chance to meet staff and deans and give relevant information on the student body and get to meet all the clubs that you didn’t know about.”
“Those students who get involved are the ones who succeed,” said Vice President of Student Services, Dr. Stephen Johnson.
A woman who made a difference is this year topic for Women’s History, Cerritos College Professor Linda Palymbo, will host the event. There will be a writers contest and cash prizes will be awarded.

Hoe down days are in March and live music, prizes, and games offered to students who participate in the event.
Various clubs will be hosting booths in the Falcon Square Mar. 16 from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. to raise money for their club. Each booth will provide games & prizes.
Chili Cook-off is Mar. 17 at 10:30 a.m in the Student Center.
Students that participated in the Chili Cook-off will receive T-shirts and awards will be given out to the winners for having the best chili dish.
In-n-Out luncheon and concert is on March 18. The truck will be parked in the Falcon Square at 11 a.m. Food is free if spring semester sticker is valid on student I.D.
The month of February is when African-Americans recognize what great leaders impacted their lives immensely. Black History Month Celebration will be Feb. 26 in the Student Center from 6 to 10 p.m.
“The theme this year is memories of Michael Jackson,” said TIffanny Gaskin, President of the Black Student Union Club.
The BSUC will be hosting a talent show, fashion show, and guest speakers.

Presidential Applications will be available Mar.1 and deadline is Mar. 19 at 4 p.m. “For anyone who would be interested in being President of ASCC and represent the student body should apply,” stated current President of ASCC Oscar Franco.
