The library Club held its 3rd consecutive semester book fair on campus this past week, with over 200 books sold, they raised $616 dollars, making it their most successful book fair up to date.
The book fair offered a variety of textbooks and novels that students could choose from, which were priced at $3 dollars or less.
This semester the library club decided to arrange the books according to their different genres to make the book selection go more smoothly.
“We tried to organize them so they wouldn’t have to shuffle thru them, which seemed to go well, because we didn’t have a lot of people ask for help in finding them,” said club member Maria Lopez
Romance novels and textbooks seemed to be the top seller this semester according to club president Enrique Siliezar.
“I don’t know why we sold so many romance novels, but maybe because were so close to Valentines Day and people want to get some ideas,” he said.
The book fair, which was held for two days, raised $616 dollars for the club.
“The first day we made $331 dollars and the second day we made $285 dollars,” said club treasurer Karen Pineda.
Saliezar explains that the book fair is one of the ways that the club fundraises money for its events.
“Were planning a trip up to Big Sur in northern California this semester, and were using the money from this book fair and money from other fundraisers to pay for the food, lodge and transportation.” he said
With the success of this semesters book fair plans for next years, which may confirm to anyone interested in the next book fair.
“We’re definitely going to have another book fair next semester” said Siliezar
