More than $700 was raised in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk that was held in Falcon Square on Tuesday.
The Cerritos College students and faculty members that participated in the walk totaled 167.
“The walk went really well; we’ve raised almost $700 for the Susan G. Komen foundation in just this event,” Health Education Department chairperson and athletics coordinator, Ni Bueno, said.
The Child Development Center was the highest donor, according to Bueno.
An obstacle course was created for the children from the Child Development Center to participate in the walk.
“We always love having the children come out here and participate in the obstacle courses that we have for them,” Bueno said.
Student Health Center employee Amber Hackert has participated in the walk for two years.
“It’s fun to come out here with everybody and do the walk together,” said Hackert
A representative from the Susan G. Komen foundation was present, offering information and pamphlets on breast health.
