Homecoming is an event for faculty, students, and staff to celebrate another school year and the beginning of the fall semester.
This year at Cerritos College, there is a request for students to participate in school pride and activities.
“There’s a lot going on this week for homecoming,” Daniel Fragoso, business Administration major, Commissioner of ICC and President of the Peace Service Association club, said.
“On Oct. 11 at 11 a.m., there will be an introduction of the homecoming court and that, evening there will be an activity night. There’s a total of 20 girls running and out of those 20 girls only seven will be chosen and introduced.”
On Oct. 12, there will be activity night starting at 6 p.m. the day after, on Oct. 13, there will be a mock rally which is an event that will be held in the Student Center.
“Girls will be mocked by a guy, who is dressed up as a girl and they’ll give a walk here on the stage.” Fragoso, said.
Float building, which will be the week of Oct. 17, will involve all 20 clubs and their floats will be built around the theme “Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll,” all floats must be made from scratch.
This year, Cerritos College will be having a school homecoming dance, which will overlap with the football game, but starts at 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The dance will be held in the Student Center and a student ID is required to enter the dance.
There will be a live DJ, food, snacks and a room filled with the late 1940s and 1950s vibe.
There is no required formal attire for the dance, but the Associated Students of Cerritos College would like for everyone to keep the theme into consideration.
Cerritos College football team will be playing against El Camino.
