Influenza can occur anytime, but most influenza occurs from October to May.
According to Cerritos College Student Health Services, a contagious respiratory illness is caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death.
Cerritos College Student Health Services offers flu vaccinations on campus. It is available now through Spring 2012.
“A flu shot costs $5 for students and $15 for staff,” Amber Hackert, medical assistant, said.
Athletic training major Rachel Villanueva said, “That’s a pretty good price, it’s good for the students.”
The Student Heath Center is located beside the Physical Education building and is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
