The Triathlon Club will be hosting its first soccer tournament to fundraise money for the club on Nov. 18.
The money will be used for members of the club to participate in future triathlons.
Anyone is welcome to be part of the tournament. Each ticket costs $3, which will reserve a spot to be on a team formed by six people.
Participation is not required for the tournament; donations will also be accepted.
“[Rather than having a bake sale or selling nachos], this is the kind of fundraiser that can have people being active and show their school spirit,” Chris DeMaree, president of the Triathlon Club, said.
Each person who purchased a ticket will be entered at a raffle on the day of the event.
Part of the money fundraised will be donated to Su Casa, a nonprofit community-based organization to end domestic violence.
Those who wish to participate in the tournament may contact any Triathlon Club member to purchase a ticket.
Triathlon Club members will be outside on Nov. 10 and next week at Falcon Square to promote the soccer tournament.
Check-in for the tournament will be at the Cerritos College soccer field on the day of the event at 12:15 p.m., the first game will be on 1 p.m.
