With the proposition of eliminating outside sourced DJ’s to get paid by the school to play at events, president of the Broadcasting Club Jamie Flores proposed to ASCC senate a bill to, “an estimate of $10,000 to purchase a DJ system,” Flores said.
He also mentioned that the DJ equipment would be insured. “We want to increase talent development for WPMD.”
Because of the school spending $250 per DJ to perform at a school event, Flores mentioned that the lump some of money being spent on the DJ system will be beneficial in saving money to no longer have to pay an outside DJ for entertainment.
“Just as the governing is left in the hands of the students, the entertainment will now be in the hands of WPMD if all pulls through.”
The decision of the bill passing will be discussed on the next committee meeting.
