Cerritos College Board of Trustee hopefuls have begun filing with the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder’s Office. They are hoping to be elected into one of the 5 open seats that are part of the re-districting that the board previously voted on.

Those that have already filed are:

Running for the seat in area No. 1 are incumbent Robert “Bob” Arthur and business owner Leonard Zuniga. Arthur has previously served as the Board of Trustees president.

The candidates for Trustee Area No. 2 are Teacher/City Clerk Carmen Avalos and incumbent Tom Jackson.

The candidates that have filed to run for Area No. 3 are educator John Paul Drayer and incumbent Jean M. Mc Hatton.

Currently running unopposed, incumbent Ted Edmiston is the only candidate to file for the Trustee Area No. 4 seat.

Running for Trustee Area No. 6 is Clinical Dr. Sandra Salazar and incumbent Dr. Tina Cho.

The deadline for potential candidates to file is Aug. 10.
