Voting time for Cerritos College students has arrived.
The voting and election process took place for those who want to be involved for ASCC’s Senate. It took place Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Elder Christopher J., a psychology major, voted early Tuesday, and said, “It is my civic duty to vote.”
Voting polls were not as active as they were projected to have been.
According to some students, the reason why they were not voting today was mainly because they did not know the people that were running as candidates.
Justine Lanz, a business major, said she did not vote because she did not know anyone who was running. “I have no idea who they are, so that is the reason why I have not voted.”
Psychology major, Kiara Cobenas, echoed the same thoughts, “I have not heard about the voting, I do not even know what we are voting for.”
Entrepreneur major, Ariel Avalos, offered a solution.
She said, “A friend of mine made me come to vote, and I would like to see pictures of the candidates because I have no idea who they are.”
Students will have the opportunity to come out and vote again Thursday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
