“I’ve been interested before, but I was a little more shy; before, it was a little lack of information on my part. This semester, I took a bigger initiative to get myself informed,” newly self-appointed investigation officer Eduardo De La Rosa said.
The Tuesday, Sept. 23, court meeting started with court members introducing themselves and the choosing of each court members’ positions.
“It was simpler than I thought it was going to be; the duties were expressed clearly,” Andrew Ballantyne said.
Court members were given the choice to be either appointed their position, or select it themselves, in which each member chose accordingly:
Investigation Officer
- Michael Melindo
- Eduardo De La Rosa
- Andrew Ballantyne
Publicity Officer
- Tam Tran
- Victor Macias
Endorsement Hearings
- Gabriela Gutierrez
If for some reason anyone were to drop out of court the following week, he would have to give back the court member uniform shirt that was given. Three more students that are interested in positions will be applying as members of the court.
The job of the investigation officer is to make sure guidelines are being met.
“I look forward to it. I look forward to dealing with different people and different personalities,” Ballantyne said.
Publicity officers would make sure things are posted on school media, such as the Talon Marks school newspaper and the school radio WPMD.
On Friday, Sept. 26, there will be a meeting at 10 a.m. for more info regarding homecoming queen candidate elections.
There will also be another court meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m.
