Early Bird is an event that provides free breakfast for students on campus the morning of the event.
There was an Early Bird scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 8:30 a.m. in Falcon Square. 8:30 came and went with no breakfast.
Student activities coordinator Amna Jara said, “The student leaders of the cabinet […] were supposed to handle the event.”
The event will not be rescheduled. The next Early Bird is set to take place Feb. 18.
“They must have over looked it in the schedule,” added Jara of the students who were left in charge of the events.
Cerritos student Arlene Magdaleno, physical therapy major said, “They (the student leaders) should know their responsibilities and keep up with them. If they ‘forgot’ then they really don’t care about the activity.”
She claimed that she had seen the event take place once before but was otherwise unaware as to what the Early Bird was.
Magdaleno added, “…it does make the students who are trying […] to be an example to others seem unorganized and careless.”
