The School Relations Program Assistant Cristine Soneriu presented to ASCC Court on the upcoming Senior Preview Day event on Tuesday, March 24.
The event is essentially an open house for high school seniors.
It will take place on Friday, April 24.
The school relations program has 1,300 confirmed high school seniors attending the event.
Soneriu encouraged the ASCC Court to have their own booth at the event.
Last year’s Senior Preview Day had 63 booths with 24 of those booths occupied by clubs.
The Anime, iFalcon, ASCC, Child Development and Go Green clubs where some of the clubs that participated in last year’s event.
Those interested in participating in the event can contact the School Relations Office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling (562)860-2451 Ext. 2130.
Court Chief Justice Alejandra Lopez said, “I love the event. It encourages future students to attend. High school seniors see you as a student and ask you more questions than they would ask an adult staff member.”
The second agenda item was the nomination and the appointment of a court member to the ASCC Awards Program committee.
According to the awards website, “The ASCC Service and Leadership Awards are presented twice a year, to honor students for their hard work and dedication to the Cerritos College campus and their community.”

The awards committee reviews the award candidates’ applications and makes the selection for the award winners.
The ASCC Court nominated and elected Associate Justice Pro Tempore Gabriela Gutierrez as the committee member.
ASCC Court Advisor and Assistant to the Coordinator of Student Activities Daniel Gomez said, “Applications for the awards program can be picked up at the student activity office and applicants should also pick up a service sheet form if applicable.”
