Tymon “Jair” Culberson gives his report on the incident which took place on campus to campus police. He described the situation as a verbal confrontation between an ex girlfriend’s family member and himself.

“The hill” as Cerritos College students know it was the scene of a verbal altercation between a student and a nameless adult who came into the campus according to Chief of Police Tom Gallivan.

The father of an ex-girlfriend approached Tymon “Jair” Culberson, a 19-year-old commercial music student and a verbal altercation ensued.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2 Culberson stated that the father and an older sister of his ex entered campus and began shouting, he classified the incident as an 8.5 out of a scale of 9.

According to Culberson, he had ended his relationship due to its unhealthy nature but wanted to continue being supportive.

He stated, “The hill is a sacred place of peace and just music, that’s why things got a little out of hand. Everyone over there have family values, that’s the same thing with me and the people I work with.”

Culberson is a recording artist on the verge of getting signed as an independent artist and his bodyguard happened to be nearby.

“Everyone started defending me not only because I’m the youngest but because I would have done the same thing,” he said.

“I’m not saying it is okay to use violence and start yelling but it comes out different ways, people communicate in different ways, so I’m not going to judge anybody; it should have never have gotten to this point,” he concluded.

Kristopher Carrasco, Online Editor
My name is Kristopher Carrasco I'm that guy that went to college and didn't really know what to do. I just kind of jumped around until I was suddenly failing out of school. Then I found Talon Marks and little by little I started to understand what I wanted to do with my life and apparently it's journalism. The idea of gathering information from a variety of sources and re-telling it through visual or written story telling has engaged me in so much more than I ever thought possible. I love to work with Multimedia, but this year I have become Online Editor in hopes of learning a new skill set. I hope to be a music journalist in the future, but in the mean time I'll be finishing my last semester up at Cerritos College in the spring of 2016. I also love raccoons; like a lot.
