(Olguin) Hello everybody, it’s Gustavo Olguin reporting with Talon Marks at Cerritos College and today we are walking around and seeing what study habits students need to improve on and how they are going about to improve them.
(Olguin) Since the semester just started, what do you think is the study habit that has held you back from your school experience?
(Seanez) Just organizing, like my time and like to actually put into studying and instead of just like slacking off or and other things like that’s what I need to focus on because that’s whats been holding me back.
(Olguin) What do you think you can do to help improve that study habit?
(Seanez) I think I can make an agenda for it and like make an actually schedule per week and about what hours i need to study and what hours I don’t and to make sure I have enough study time to actually to do the preparation for my test for my subjects and for my homework’s.
(Olguin) So the semester had just started, what do you think is the study skill that you need to work on the most?
(Miramontes) Not only myself but just everybody in general, since high school everybody kind of procrastinates, that’s the major thing, every body knows that its not nothing new, I’m not discovering the cure to cancer or anything like that. but procrastination just you know being dedicated, and being on point every single time and every single day.
(Olguin) What do you think you can do to improve on this procrastination?
(Miramontes) Through work and all of that, you kind of just make a schedule for things it kind of keeps you on your game.
(Olguin) Since the new semester is starting, what do you think is the study skill that you can improve one for this semester?
(Gupta) Since I am new to this street, I’m a foreign student, so I think the teachers need to concentrate on students because we don’t know much English.
(Olguin) How do you think you, as an individual, improve your study habits?
(Gupta) I do a lot of research on whatever the teacher teaches, I listen carefully and whatever I don’t know I write it down immediately after the class, I go on the internet and search for that
(Olguins) For the new semester what do you think is a study skill that has troubled you the most throughout your whole school career?
(Alvarado) I think pretty much reading, because I hate reading. so really actually going into the book and reading it.
(Olgluin) How do you improve on your reading abilities?
(Alvarado) Reading constantly, maybe reading things that I like that are related to school. So more focus in stuff so it could bring my attention on reading and reading my notes more often.
(Olguin) With the new semester starting what do you think is the study habit that you struggle with the most?
(Kannampuzha) Probably studying ahead of time, I usually end up studying in like the day before the test or the day before something is due.
(Olguin) What do you think you can do to improve on that?
(Kannampuzha) Probably working on a schedule, planning like a study time through the week. Setting aside time every day.
(Olguin) Well there you have it, it seems that being organized as well as not procrastinating is on the top list for most the students here at Cerritos College.
