The mention of celebrities like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus get a lot of buzz these days and not for great reasons. Their faces appear on every tabloid out there for the whole world to view. However, can seeing celebrities everywhere have a negative effect on society?
For younger fans, the life of celebrities might seem like the easiest thing in the world. They appear to not have many responsibilities, get to do whatever they want most of the time and give the appearance of a care free life. It might give the admirers the illusion that living the way their role model lives can be a good thing.
Pop culture is a big part of society. But when it comes down to the core of it, it’s just a group of people gossiping about celebrities.
The most talked about celebrity at the moment is Bieber. His recent actions of egging a neighbor’s home in Calabasas and resisting arrest in Miami after getting caught drag racing has brought him a lot of negative attention.
His bad behavior has caused a lot of these people to dislike him even more, some even bringing on a petition to have him deported back to his native country of Canada.
His fans, known as “beleibers,” have stuck with their idol through his recent actions.
Just like Bieber, Cyrus is not a stranger to the spotlight, since she started out as a Disney star at the age of 13. During her Disney days, she seemed well behaved and had a huge following of fans, most of them being younger or the same age as her.
But she eventually out grew the Disney spotlight.
Cyrus decided it was time for a more adult version of herself.
Adults themselves can live life the way they choose, but teen behavior in the present can affect the way the rest of their lives will play out.
However, with so much advertisement of celebrities and their lifestyles, it’s hard not to get sucked into their world.
