Religion is an interesting topic to discuss because people have their own point of view when interpreting each religion.
People need to take some form of a religion class in order to better familiarize themselves and put a stop to the racism and discrimination of other religious people that goes on.
All colleges should offer a free religion class in order to educate and expose students to other religions.
These courses would help students better understand other religions.
If people were informed about other religions, they would understand why they act the way they do.
The importance of these courses is to help people be more tolerable with other people who do not practice the same religion.
People should respect other religions and not be attacked because of it.
I’m sure that at least once, every person has discriminated against someone based on their religion.
In recent times, Muslims have been a target of discrimination simply based on the way they dress.
Muslims are one of the most discriminated groups because people don’t understand some of their traditions.
When someone does something bad, people start to generalize everybody else.
In this particular case, many people think all Muslims are to be considered terrorists based on the actions that a very small percentage of their population has done.
After the Paris attacks, ABC7 published an article where Muslims were explaining that these terrorist attacks are not part of the teachings of Islam and emphasized that the actions of ISIS do not represent all Muslims.
Many Muslims use Twitter to stand against the actions of ISIS and other terrorist attacks that claim to be initiated on behalf of Islam.
Many people are unaware of other religions and their practices, and because of this, many tend to judge a book by it’s cover and make erroneous general assumptions about certain religions.
If people are informed about other religions it makes it easier to create mutual respect.
People would then understand each other better and treat one another with respect.
