Stranger Things star, Noah Schnapp attends the Alexandre Mattiussi Menswear Fall/Winter 2023-2024 show which apart of Paris Fashion Week on January 19, 2023, in Paris, France.
Being completely ignorant of genocide is very off-putting. It shows the lack of knowledge being displayed and how to fully understand how Palestinians have been treated over the past couple of decades by Israel.
Stranger Things star, Noah Schnapp has completely been benighted about the Israel-Palenstine conflict. His recent post stating that “Zionism is sexy” and “Hamas is Isis” was completely disgusting.
As a public figure, you should always be educating yourself on particular topics no matter how big or small the issue is at hand. It can be very saddening to know that some of our favorite celebrities can be so open with their ignorance without fully understanding how comments can affect other communities.
Along with his fellow Stranger Things co-star, Brett Gelman said “I saw nothing wrong- He held up a sticker saying Zionism is sexy — Zionism is the belief that Israel should exist, and that’s sexy to me too.”
Stating comments about Israel being sexy while they are constructing a whole genocide on innocent Palestinian men, women and children is very distasteful.
In Schnapp’s recent apology video on TikTok responding to the criticism for his recent post, he explains how his comments were being misconstrued. He believes that everyone from both sides of the conflict should live harmoniously in the future.
His response didn’t seem very genuine because of the fact that he never took accountability for the posts that he made.
In 2019, Noah Schnapp starred in the movie Abe which is about a 12-year-old boy who tries to unite his half-Palestinian and half-Israeli by cooking. He had to do research on Palestine and its “conflict” with Israel to fully understand how to portray this character in this movie.
Being oblivious to your wrongdoing and not acknowledging where you went wrong can come off as disheartening.
Having the privilege to live in a country where you don’t have to worry about being killed because of your race is something that he fully hasn’t taken into consideration.
Going forward Schnapp should educate himself on the conflict from both sides and be completely honest and transparent about his comments in the future.
In the future, if Schnapp can understand how hurtful the posts he made towards Palestinians are he should donate proceeds to a non-profit organization that can help aid Palestinians in need of food, water and shelter.
Understanding ignorance as it relates to this particular conflict can overshadow how celebrities can be perceived by the general population. This can result in him being canceled and no one caring about his career going forward.
If Zionism is sexy that means that genocide is acceptable to fellow Israelis and Palestinians don’t need to matter.
Overall, celebrities and public figures should educate themselves on issues even if it doesn’t physically affect them. It shows that you can be from a particular background and still educate yourself and understand how these issues can affect certain communities.

Hi Shaniah,
With all due respect, I think YOU should educate yourself on the history of the conflict. Zionism is the Jewish self-determination movement, and we are right to be proud of it. These charges of “genocide,” the crime of all crimes, are a targeted attempt to demonize the world’s only Jewish state. The ICJ has not yet issued a ruling on the charges. Ironically, Hamas’ attack on 10/07/2023 fits the definition of genocide much better than Israel’s campaign of self-defense. I’d suggest you learn more about our history before publicly libeling us.
Thanks,
A Jew
