Midfielders Monique Cisneros and Corina Villegas each scored one goal to propel the Cerritos College women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Pierce College to advance into the third round of the state playoffs Tuesday afternoon.
“There was a time in the season when the team would let the play come to it,” head coach Ruben Gonzalez said. “Now it is the one on the attack, it wants to keep the opponents on its heels.”
The Falcons will face the winner of Mt. SAC and Cuyamaca on Saturday at either 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.
