The Falcons had it’s first track meet on Feb. 10 at Mt. SAC. The Cerritos College men’s track team finished second overall at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships.
The womens track team for the Falcons finished fourth overall in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship.
Angel Fuentes, who does the heptathlon for Cerritos, talked about the areas in which the team preformed well, saying,” We did well in the throwing competitions, we scored in the top five.”
Falcons track coach Christian Joseph talked about how the team preformed in the jumping competitions, saying,” Ultimately, we did poorly in the jumping competitions, but it’s our first meet so we’ll have have more progression.”
Geoffrey Ricketts who runs the 400m and 800m also talked about the meet, saying,”It was good. I got to race against the top school in the state.”
The next Falcons meet will be on Feb. 17 at Cerritos College at 9:00 p.m.
