The Cerritos College men’s baseball team suffered yet again another loss 7-4 against El Camino College Compton on Mar. 20.
The game took place at ECC Compton and added to the men’s 0-9 record away from Kincaid Field.
The men’s baseball team still has not captured its first win in the South Coast Conference, but were determined for a win against ECC Compton.
According to outfielder Chris Esparza, “This is our sixth straight game dropped in the conference.”
This is the worst record the team has had in the Cerritos baseball team’s history.
In the first inning, ECC Compton broke out with a 4-0 lead with all four runs and two outs.
ECC Compton scored two more runs in the fourth inning and added one more in the sixth.
Cerritos managed to score two runs in the sixth and seventh inning, highlighted by sophomore outfielder Bubby Rossman.
The Falcons had a rally going in the eighth inning but only scored two runs.
The losing pitcher was freshman Gael Esparza, who allowed six runs on six hits in three innings.
The Falcons are now 3-14 overall and 0-5 in Conference play.
Cerritos will play ECC Compton again on Mar. 17 at home at 12:30 p.m.
