The Cerritos College women’s soccer team travels to Los Angeles Pierce College on Friday, Sept. 14 for a 4 p.m. match against the Brahma Bulls.
Still ranked fifth in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and currently undefeated in four games (3-0-1), the Cerritos College women’s soccer team have won three in a row over Foothill College, Cosumnes River, and Sierra College.
The Cerritos College women’s soccer team began the season by tying San Francisco Community College 2-2 on Aug. 31 in the City by the Bay.
The game against Pierce College represents the fifth of 10 straight road games before the Cerritos College women’s soccer team host their first home contest on Oct. 9 at 4:00 p.m.
The LA Pierce College Brahma Bulls dropped their opener to Cuyamaca College of San Diego 1-0, but have rebounded nicely, not allowing a goal in their last two games, outscoring Golden West College and Ventura College five goals to nil.
After finishing a routine 5:45 a.m. workout, Cerritos College sophomore defender Kayla Paiz said, “We wake up for training and practice, and it kind of just shows our coaches how dedicated we are.”
“At the end of the year, we have a goal to be in the State Championship on Dec. 4 and we know that sacrifices will get us a long way, so we’re willing to get up at 5 in morning, if it has to be,” Paiz added.
Kickoff is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. on the Los Angeles Pierce College campus.
