Brief: Falcons baseball walks over Rustler Sams

Three Falcon baseball players drove in two runs apiece as the Cerritos College Falcons defeated the Golden West College Rustler Sams, 12-7.

The victory was highlighted by centerfielder Johnny Martinez’s 3-for-4 effort, which included a walk and two runs scored.

The walk was one of 11 administered by the Ruster Sams’ pitching staff.

Falcons pitcher Christian Smith earned his first victory in relief, pitching 5.2 shutout innings, allowing six hits, walking one and striking out three.
