Brief: Dalton sets a record for women’s track and field team

Freshman Alexus Dalton broke her personal record Saturday at the Beach Invitational, jumping 1.70 meters to win the high jump event, one of two victories for Cerritos College.

Sophomore Tiffany Gray was another victorious athlete, winning the shot put, throwing it 13.02 meters.

In running, freshman Nashay Shaw placed in ninth, finishing with a time of 12.62 in the 100 meter race.

Up next for the women’s track and field team is the Ben Brown Invitational on the campus of Cal State Fullerton on Friday and Saturday.
