Ariana Mejia is the 2013 South Coast Conference player of the year, after hitting .569/.657/1.098 with five home runs and 26 RBIs during 21 games of conference play.
The freshman third baseman is also on the conference’s all-SCC first team, and is joined by sophomore first baseman Andrea Arellano.
A trio of Cerritos College players (freshman outfielder Arianna Hernandez, sophomore pitcher Kayla Klein and pitcher/designated hitter Jamie Ramirez) were added to the conference’s all-SCC second team.
Sophomore utility player Ashley Miller was named as honorable mention.
The softball team will play a three-game series at San Diego Mesa College on May 4 and 5 as part of the first round of the CCCAA Regional Playoffs first round.
