The Cerritos College men’s soccer team will seek to advance to the State Championship Finals in its semifinal game against Taft College.
The Falcons beat Oxnard College in penalties to secure the team’s spot in the semifinal game against the Cougars.
The Cougars are coming into this game ranked first in the North region. In the previous game, the team defeated Hartnell College in a double overtime match.
The top scorers for the Falcons are forward Christian Carrillo and midfielder Steve Martinez, with 11 and 7 goals, respectively.
The Falcons haven’t lost a game since Oct. 28 and if the team wins, it will give the Cougars their first lost of the season.
Cerritos College is looking to win a third State Championship.
The game between the Falcons and the Cougars will take place Dec. 5 at Mt. San Antonio College at 4 p.m.
