Florida officials recently passed the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, banning school districts from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom.
Cherise Charleswell, development manager of Journey Out, educated about twenty participants on how sex trafficking involves vulnerability. Charleswell said it's important to notice red flags such as signs of discomfort within the victim.

Journey Out, a nonprofit organization for victims of sexual exploitation & trafficking, was invited by Cerritos College to educate viewers of how victims of sexual trafficking continue to have their lives destroyed. On Jan. 26, advocate Cherise Charleswell spoke to participants about the vulnerability victims experience and how to help.
Even after the pivotal Stonewall Riots, the concept of LGBT was scorned and dismissed. Today is a future where society is only just becoming more accepting and knowledgeable.
